NBA Throwback Thursday: Mutombo blocks 31 shots in a 5 game series

Dikembe Mutombo was known as the defensive anchor for the Denver Nuggets in the 90's for many years. He was apart of the first 8th seed team to ever defeat a 1st seed team in the NBA playoffs. Dikembe knew how to bring his game to a whole nother level once the playoffs began. In the first round of the 1994 playoffs Mutumbo made history by recording a record breaking 31 blocks in a 5 game series. Dikembe accomplished this feat against the Seattle Supersonics and more impressively a Shawn Kemp in his prime. Mutumbo helped prove that you don't have to be a scoring machine to be a baller.
